Shina Ansari Meets with Global Leaders on COP29’s Opening Day
Shina Ansari, Vice President and Head of the Department of Environment, met briefly with several global leaders on the first day of the COP29 conference.
According to the Department of Environment’s Public Relations, Ansari connected in Baku with key figures including the President of Azerbaijan, Turkey’s President and Foreign Minister, Pakistan’s Prime Minister and Climate Minister, the President of the Kurdistan Region, the UAE’s Prime Minister, Kuwait’s Crown Prince, Bangladesh’s Prime Minister, Nepal’s President, the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, a former UN Deputy Secretary-General, Azerbaijan’s Environment Minister, and the President of COP29.
Ansari emphasized the importance of strengthened international cooperation to address and adapt to the ongoing global impacts of climate change.
