Tehran residents enjoyed bright blue skies during the month of Mehr that ended on Oct. 22 as air quality in the metropolis was not as toxic as it was in the past few years during the same month.

According to Tehran Air Quality Control Company data every year when the cold season arrives the mercury dips and pollution is trapped close to the ground suffocating residents in the metropolis. That is exactly what the people expect during the month.

Based on TAQCC charts, the capital, which has long been notorious for worsening air pollution, had 28 days with "moderate" air quality. The month ended with hardly two days in "good" condition.
