Iran's Vice President and Head of Environment Department Meets with Croatian Minister of Environment

Dr. Shina Ansari, Vice President and Head of Iran's Department of Environment, met with Marija Vučković, Minister of Environment and Green Economy of the Republic of Croatia, to emphasize the expansion of bilateral cooperation across various environmental fields.

According to the Public Relations of the Department of Environment, Dr. Ansari, referring to the Department of Environment's chairing of the Iran-Croatia Joint Economic Cooperation Commission, stated: "This commission is a suitable platform for elevating the level of cooperation between the two countries, and after several years of stagnation, it must be reactivated now that its responsibility has been entrusted to the Department of Environment."

 

She expressed the Islamic Republic of Iran's desire for cooperation in areas such as the management of protected areas, the exchange of experiences in water resource and wetlands management, and the control of industrial pollution. Dr. Ansari added that strengthening scientific and technical interactions can play a significant role in enhancing the national capacity of both countries in environmental protection.

 

In this meeting, the Croatian Minister of Environment, Marija Vučković, expressed satisfaction with the meeting and noted: "The Islamic Republic of Iran was among the first countries to recognize Croatia's independence in 1992, and this fact is always appreciated by the Croatian government and nation." She also considered the expansion of environmental relations, the participation of other agencies, and the broadening scope of cooperation as a valuable opportunity to strengthen the growing relations between the two countries, and extended an invitation for official visits to Croatia from the Iranian side.
